Intermusica recently became world manager of the fine Polish virtuoso pianist Ewa Kupiec. One of the fastest rising representatives of the younger generation of Polish artists, Kupiec is particularly well-known in Germany, where she has built a strong relationship with leading orchestras and promoters who have warmly embraced her individual approach which combines intellect with true emotion.
Ewa Kupiec has a diverse recital repertoire ranging from the core repertoire: Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, Mendelssohn, Schumann and Mozart, to the Polish masters of the 20th Century; Paderewski, Szymanowski and Lutoslawski. Lutoslawski described the virtuosity and instinctive individuality of Kupiecs playing as a true revelation.
Kupiec receives regular invitations to many major international festivals, and has played with some of the most prestigious European ensembles, including the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, Radio Symphony Orchestra Frankfurt, Saarlaendischer Rundfunk, Helsinki Radio Orchestra, Württembergische Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo.
In addition to a busy orchestral schedule, Kupiec has appeared in some of Europes foremost recital halls offering a comprehensive repertoire for the recital platform. Next season she appears in the Berlin Philharmonics Sunday afternoon piano recital series.
Kupiec has made numerous recordings for the Polish Radio, BBC Radio, Austrian Radio and the NDR Hamburg. Her Koch recording of Lutoslawski and Szymanowski piano concerti with the Bamberger Symphoniker received the renowned Echo Klassik Preis in 1997. Other recordings include the Preludes by Chopin and Szymanowski (1998) and works for piano and orchestra by Paderewski (Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra/Hugh Wolff, 1999). Her two-volume CD of Chopins Nocturnes was received enthusiastically by the press around the world.
