Last Spring Paul McCreesh, known primarily until now as the Founder and Director of the multiple award-winning Gabrieli Consort & Players, was signed exclusively for world management by Intermusica.
McCreeshs reputation for meticulous preparation combined with his pragmatic collaboration with modern orchestras has led to demand from orchestras and opera houses in both Europe and the United States looking for his unique insight into the Baroque and Classical repertoire. Recent concerts have also included works by Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Elgar, Ravel, Faure and Britten.
A conductor who is happy to display an ever-increasing range of repertoire, McCreesh recently accepted invitations to conduct Handels Messiah with the San Francisco and National Symphony (Wash., DC) and in the same period conducts performances of Schnittke with the Northern Sinfonia!
As a consequence of the news on McCreesh spreading worldwide, careful planning has been required to combine his continuing Deutsche Grammophon recording work with the Gabrielis, as well as being able to satisfy demands being made from several major American orchestras and some very distinguished European ensembles who have invited him for the next two seasons.
